The Application

How to Apply

Applications for all degree courses need to be made via UCAS.

UCAS applications generally open around September for courses that start the following year. Please check the UCAS website for more information.

Our Course Code is UE18 and our Institution Code is T89.

Apply now on the UCAS website

Personal Statement

Use this part of your application to tell us about yourself and how you will thrive in your future role as a teacher. You might tell us about your creative and innovative approach, which will inspire both children and colleagues. You might want to tell us about how you will strive to provide the best opportunities that you can for the children in your care to learn and flourish, that you will have the highest expectations of yourself and that you will be a credit to the teaching profession.

Further advice on writing a personal statement is available on the UCAS website.

Qualifications

When you fill in your UCAS application form, make sure you include all your GCSE and A Levels or equivalent, including vocational qualifications. It's also important to include any voluntary work or work experience you have done.

References

If you are applying whilst still at school/college, your referee should be someone who knows you academically and can talk about your work ethic, interaction with other students and your suitability for higher education or a future career. We recommend that you ask your tutor, teacher, principal or headteacher.

If you are already employed within a school setting, your referee must be the headteacher of the school in which you work.

If you left education years ago, you can use an employer, volunteering supervisor or trainer, or preferably, if you have undertaken any work experience in a school, please use the headteacher of that school as your referee.

We highly recommend that you don’t ask family, friends, partners or ex-partners though – if you do, your application may be cancelled.
